Welcome to the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park (GPFP)! Located in the heart of Roma, the GPFP offers a great space for food vendors to showcase their culinary delights. With a prime location and affordable rental rates, the GPFP is the perfect destination for food lovers and vendors to enjoy a new experience in Roma!

Location

The Guadalupe Plaza Food Park is located at 5 East Grant Street, Roma, Texas, 78584, within the Guadalupe Plaza premises. The newly remodeled plaza will be home to weekly entertainment events that are aimed at creating community fellowship and providing opportunities for talent showcasing.

The Plaza has multiple access points, but the specific location of the GP Food Park is in front of Jack in the Box, just along East Grant Street. Situated at the center point of multiple intersections along Garcia Street and Grant Street, the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park is exposed to heavy traffic flow throughout the day.

Hours of Operation

The Guadalupe Plaza Food Park will be open for business 7 days a week during the following hours:

Monday - Thursday
7:00 am - 10:00 pm
Friday & Saturday
7:00 am - 2:00 am
Sunday
10:00 am - 10:00 pm

Vendors are required to operate for a minimum of 3 days per week for at least 4 hours per day during these operating hours. This schedule ensures consistent availability for our patrons and maximizes opportunities for vendors to establish a solid customer base.

Menu Offerings

At the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park, we are committed to offering a diverse and unique experience to our patrons. To maintain variety and appeal, we will only accept one food truck of each type of food. Therefore, it will be first-come, first-served on the application process.

Whether you specialize in gourmet burgers, authentic tacos, artisanal desserts, or international foods, our food park provides a platform for you to share your unique culinary creations with our community.

Rental Rates

The rental rates at the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park are competitively priced starting at $250.00 per month, with additional charges for water, sewer, and trash services. With such affordable rates and the attractiveness of our prime location, we anticipate high demand from vendors seeking to secure a spot in our new food community. Given this level of interest, we encourage vendors to act promptly and uphold the highest standards to stand out in the application process.

MObile Requirements

To maintain the aesthetic and atmosphere of the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park, we are specifically seeking concession trailer or food trucks for our vendors. We kindly request that applicants refrain from applying with carts or smaller setups. Food Trailers must be well-maintained and visually appealing. Trailers that do not meet our standards may be subject to denial during the application process. We encourage vendors to ensure that their trailers reflect the high standards of quality and professionalism upheld by our Food Park.

Utilities

Electricity will be included in the rent; however, vendors will be responsible for their own water, sewer, and trash services. Electrical outlets will be conveniently located near the units, and water and sewer connections will also be available near each unit for vendors to set up their services.

Trash Garbage

A 6-yard garbage dumpster will be provided on the premises for vendors’ use, but each vendor must have their own covered trash receptacle of at least 10 gallons either inside or outside the food unit for proper disposal of waste. This includes handling grease, oil, food debris, and other waste in a responsible manner and ensuring a clean and inviting environment for all patrons.

Vendor Spaces

There will be 5 lease pads available for rent. Vendors will have the opportunity to select their preferred spot for lease from the available options. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage vendors to make their selections promptly upon acceptance. This ensures that each vendor has the opportunity to secure their desired location within the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park.

Bathroom Responsibilites

The Guadalupe Plaza Food Park will have public restrooms, accessible by all visitors. They will be maintained by our maintenance crew on a routinely basis, but food vendors will be responsible for helping to maintain the basic cleanliness of the bathrooms by taking turns for each food vendor to check up on the bathrooms. If you notice anything broken, missing, or requiring immediate attention, you will be required to contact us right away. The basic cleaning checklist includes the following:

Tables and Chairs

The Guadalupe Plaza Food Park will provide seating for approximately 50 guests, accessible by all visitors. The tables and chairs will be maintained by our maintenance crew on a routinely basis, but food vendors will be responsible for helping to maintain the basic cleanliness of the tables and chairs by taking turns for each food vendor to check up on the tables and chairs. If you notice anything broken, missing, or requiring immediate attention, you will be required to contact us right away. The basic cleaning checklist for the tables and chairs includes the following:

Food Vendors will be required to maintain General Liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. The vendor shall include the City of Roma as additional insured on the Commercial General Liability policy.

Health & Food Safety Permit

Maintaining high standards of health and food safety is essential in the food industry. Before operating at the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park, vendors must obtain necessary permits from the City of Roma’s Health & Food Safety Division. These permits demonstrate compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure the well-being of our patrons. Additionally, vendors will need to ensure that they possess a Food Manager’s Certification, and their employees possess a Food Handler’s Registration.

Fire Inspection And Approval

Fire Safety is a top priority at the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park. Vendors must adhere to fire safety regulations and obtain any required permits from the Roma Fire Department. This ensures a safe and secure environment for both vendors and patrons. If your food establishment will not produce smoke or grease-laden fumes, you should still contact the Fire Department to ensure that your mobile food unit is in compliance with the City’s Fire Codes.

Noise

In consideration of the peaceful atmosphere at the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park and the comfort of our patrons, vendors are prohibited from projecting continuous music or repetitive sounds from their mobile units. We aim to maintain a peaceful environment where visitors can enjoy their meals and conversations without unnecessary disruptions. Thank you for your cooperation in preserving the ambiance of our food park.

Employee Parking

Parking facilities will be available for employees at 303 North Grant Street, specifically at the Roma Transit Station Parking lot. To ensure safety and compliance, all vehicles must meet statutory requirements for inspection, safety, and other relevant regulations to be operated on the premises. It’s imperative that no junked, unusable, or unsightly vehicles are parked on the premises, to maintain a neat and orderly environment for all. 2 Parking Passes will be issued to each food vendor, and they must be always visible while parked on the premises.

Grease

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability and compliance with environmental regulations, vendors whose operations involve the production of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) must install a grease interceptor inside their trailer or on the premises. This interceptor must be cleaned and maintained regularly in accordance with the rules and regulations set for by the City of Roma. Vendors must provide proof of cleaning and maintenance upon request by the City to ensure compliance and environmental responsibility.

Temporary Shade Structures

Vendors may utilize temporary shade structures to provide additional comfort for themselves and their customers. However, all shade structures must adhere to safety regulations and be security anchored to prevent any hazards. Vendors are responsible for the setup, maintenance, and removal of their temporary shade structures. Additionally, vendors must ensure that their shade structures do not obstruct pedestrian pathways or impede the visibility of other vendors.

Application

The application process for vendors at the Guadalupe Plaza Food Park involves submitting a comprehensive application form detailing their business concept, menu offerings, and compliance with all relevant regulations. Once received, each application will undergo a thorough review process by our team to ensure alignment with our vision and standards. We prioritize diversity and uniqueness in our selection.

Additionally, we will assess the appearance and presentation of each concession trailer or food truck to maintain the aesthetic integrity of our Food Park. Upon approval, vendors will have the opportunity to choose their spot form the available options on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to create an engaging environment for both vendors and visitors, and our application and review procedure plays a crucial role in achieving this role.
